Boost Productivity: Explore Generative AI

Why not become more productive despite countless technological tools? These tools, designed to make us more efficient, often lead to more time spent on side issues such as email management. The result: more tools, less productivity.
The Central Planning Bureau noted an increase in productivity from 2009 to 2023, but an analysis by economist Mathijs Bouman reveals that we are not making optimal use of the technology. The increase in productivity is mainly due to increased working hours, a phenomenon that Bouman calls “shabby productivity”.
Ironically, technology tools often add new tasks instead of helping us. According to Adobe, employees spend an average of 4.5 hours per day on emails, regardless of time on platforms such as Teams and Slack. This promise of efficiency often turns out to be an illusion.
This is where generative AI comes in. Unlike traditional tools, generative AI can automate repetitive tasks and tackle complex tasks independently. This “super-intern” analyses data, recognizes patterns and makes decisions, allowing employees to focus on more important work.
Two concrete examples:
Integrating generative AI into automation promises a significant productivity boost without adding additional tasks.
