AI Without Expertise Is Meaningless
There is a prevailing idea that AI will eventually surpass us, devising better ideas and more creative solutions than humans. While AI is impressively capable of analyzing and producing at scale, those striving for the highest quality quickly realize this vision is flawed.

A fool with a tool is still a fool. A statement that has persisted for decades, but is perhaps more relevant now than ever. Even-or perhaps especially-in the era of artificial intelligence. Even as AI models become increasingly powerful, faster, and seemingly smarter.
There is a prevailing idea that AI will eventually surpass us. That systems will devise better ideas, stronger concepts, and more creative solutions than humans themselves. And yes, AI is capable of an impressive amount. It can analyze, combine, rewrite, and produce in seconds what takes humans hours. But anyone striving for the highest quality soon notices that this image is incorrect.
AI is exceptionally good at elaborating on ideas. Not at originating them.
The difference lies in the starting point. A mediocre idea does not suddenly become brilliant with AI-at best, it becomes mediocre faster. Without direction, vision, and sharpness, AI functions primarily as an efficient multiplier of what already exists. And what already exists is often average.
Therefore: AI only truly works well when you first have a strong idea or concept yourself.
That idea rarely originates behind a keyboard. It doesn't start in a prompt or a template. It arises in moments when your mind is given space. In the shower. On a bicycle. During a walk. In conversations that seemed to lead nowhere but touched on something essential. That is where experience, intuition, and context converge. That is where differentiation is born.
Without domain expertise, AI remains flat. It knows words, patterns, and probabilities, but lacks a sense of nuance, timing, and meaning. It does not understand why something works, only that it often works. This is precisely why human expertise is indispensable. You determine the direction. You sense what is relevant. You set the bar.
AI is not a replacement for thinking. It is an accelerator of thinking. A powerful tool that only adds value when in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.
Or, to put it classically but aptly:
a fool with a tool is still a fool.
